Day 7 Bridge and Bulgaria

What a nice day. The weather was perfect with the high around 68F, clear skies and a calm sea. We rose to a late morning breakfast, delivered to our room. According to the on-board map, we are just about half way to Funchal. We are now crossing the Mid Atlantic ridge. This seems reasonable since the depth this morning is ONLY 12,000 feet. It was running around 18,000 feet. I expect the depth to be back to about 18,000 feet in the morning as we descend the east side of the ridge.

For lunch we landed on the patio bar again. Today they were setting up a "special" BBQ of chicken, shrimp and ribs. I did not see anything other than chicken and we just ate off the buffet. But the sun and breeze were great.

After lunch we attended the coffee bar before our scheduled tour of the Bridge.

Sailing across the mid Atlantic, the Bridge was pretty boring, as hoped! Gone are the navigational maps and compasses. Now it is all GPS and computers.

Back at our suite, we found the horizon and ocean soothing.

This evening we dined with the Chef Engineer (Bulgaria). He was very engaging. We discussed many issues.
