We've got our luggage tags and are to have the luggage out in the hall between 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm tonight. T did all the packing and we had our bags out in the hall by 10:30 pm. The day started with another leisurely breakfast in The Restaurant. The morning was overcast with calm seas and the temperature in the low 60's.
After breakfast, we attended a seminar on Barcelona. Lots of history and interesting architecture. We will be taking the post-cruise "Highlights" tour of the city offered by Seabourn before heading to our hotel, the Hilton Barcelona. The hotel is actually part of the pre-cruise package offered by Oceania. The Seabourn Guest Services told us, since the Hilton is in the middle of town (and not near the airport where their tour ends), they will drop us off somewhere where we can catch a cab to the hotel. T said they told her it should be a short cab ride and cost only about 20 Euros. That will be good as we did not bring a lot of Euros with us.
After the Barcelona talk, we adjourned to the room and enjoyed the Mediterranean view. We are traveling toward the Spanish side of the sea and have been able to see the mountains along the coast all day. Toward noon, the weather cleared, the sun appeared and we went to the Patio Grill for lunch.
In the afternoon, we attended The Afternoon Tea in The Club where the Seabourn singers performed. On the way, we stopped by the gift shop. We still had credits remaining on our account. When we boarded, we had $1,000 of shipboard credits. I spent $500 on my carry-on bag, we spent $270 on wine tastings. The remainder we needed to use or give back. T was interested in a hand bag and finally opted to get it, using up the remaining credits and just a bit more. The bag was offered for $298. After exhausting the remaining credits, it cost her about $22.40
As we turned north toward Barcelona, we actually had some sunlight on our veranda. I took advantage of it for a short time, starting to fry very quickly.
On the way to dinner in The Restaurant, we ran into our room stewardess, Helen. She has been very kind to us and we will miss her (I don't know if she will miss us).
We attended the final show this evening, a magician and jazz concert.
Then there is the "ball" in the enclosed veranda. I know it is art, but it looks to me like a giant ball of pollen. I did not even want to touch it. I have had to take allergy medicine every day. I did not think they would appreciate it if I threw it over board.
Finally, the door stop. We used this to prop open the veranda door so it would not pinch our power cords (no power outlets on the veranda). We played a "hide and seek" game with Helen. We would steal and hide the door stop and she would eventually find it and take it away. Later she would forget and leave it behind when she cleaned the room and the game would start again.
Tomorrow we rise at 6:00 am. We have asked breakfast to be delivered between 6:15 and 6:30. We expect to disembark at 8:00 and meet for our tour of Barcelona at 8:15 and begin the tour at 8:30 am. It will be a busy day. We got a note from Maxine yesterday saying we have been confirmed on the alternate tour of Rome next Friday.
