Day 5 Pearls and Wine

We slept in late again this morning. The weather is a bit cooler today and it is overcast with rain on the horizon. We had intended to try having breakfast at The Restaurant instead of room service, but the breakfast hour is just 8:00 to 9:00 am. We stayed up late last night watching the most recent Pirates of the Caribbean, plus we lost an hour last night. We are moving the clocks up one hour every other night. I woke at 8:30 and T suggested we try again tomorrow morning.

We did have lunch in The Restaurant. Good food. We then attended a short seminar on pearls before going to a wine tasting class.

All of these wines were good. I particularly liked the white Burgundy and the Sonoma Chardonnay was also good. The Opus One was excellent ($270/bottle), but the Caymus Cabernet was surprising good. The youngest of the reds, it needed no aging. It was interesting that all three of the reds were from the same grape and roughly the same age, but were so different. The Tuscany needed more aging.
