Day 4 Relaxing

Yesterday, we did almost nothing. The seas were much calmer than they were on Monday. We lounged most of the day on the veranda reading as the waves rolled by. We decided to eat dinner in our room. The peace and quiet was outstanding. The weather, thus far, has been delightful. Temperatures in the mid-70's, mostly sunny with very picturesque clouds on the horizon.

This morning, we attended a cooking demonstration by the passionate and energetic Jes Paskins, Executive Chef. He had escorted us on a tour of the Galley on Monday. Today, he made a simple Tom Kah Gai Soup (Spicy Thai Chicken, Coconut and Galangal). It was OK, a little too much lemon for me however. Afterwards, T went up to give him some suggestions and to ask if he had any recommendations for preparation of Black Cod (we have a whole freezer full).

She said she got some good ideas.

After lunch at the patio grill, we attended a short seminar on "Secrets of the Deep" by Patricia Kramer, discussing sea monsters, phantom ships and superstitions surrounding the sea. Later we attended Afternoon Tea in the Observation Lounge at the nose of the ship. Good views, good tea (Oolong), good scones and finger sandwiches.

Tonight we will have dinner in The Restaurant (yep, that's the name of the main restaurant), not to be confused with their "upscale" (reservations required) restaurant named...wait for it...Restaurant 2!
